What You Need To Provide IMS
We work with Internet Radio Stations & show creators that are legally licensed to broadcast in the USA as well as several promotion companies with high standards. There is information they all request you to provide. The following details are pretty much the standard if you really want to get your music heard worldwide. Some of it is a requirement in the US & many countries because of Copyright Laws. These laws are different in every country but the basics remain the same whether they are a webcaster or a radio station.
Information about the song
- Featured Artist (or band)
- Song Title
- Album name (if not just a single)
- Song Writer and Publisher
- Label (if you have one)
- International Song Recording Code (ISRC)
Some Broadcasters Will Have Other Requirements, Such As:
- Audio format of the audio file: usually WAV or MP3
- Depending on the broadcaster, the MP3 bit rate can vary. High end broadcasters use 320kbps (kilo bytes bytes per second). Others use a bit rate as low as 160kbps. Make sure to ask.
- All the song information above embedded in the audio file
- The artwork or image for the song.
- Name the filename properly so they know who it came from. EX.: The John Doe Band-Where’s My Jane Gone? They get a lot of submissions & reject them if they don’t know who sent it.
What Our Service For MP3 Creation Costs
Each song submitted requires a fee of $10.00USD but you get three properly tagged audio files in return. Two MP3s & your original WAV back with all the information that format allows to be embedded due to limitations set by Microsoft when that format was originally created in the 1990s. IMS also gives discounts on multiple files based on number of songs you want to have done. For eample: if you have an EP of five songs, you receive the fifth at no charge. Albums with 10 songs receive two for the cost of eight.
